Monday

...and justice for all

soundcheck: daughters (john mayer)

probably not the smoothest ways to kickstart the new year, the last entry, but who cares? still have plenty to be excited, like the little matter of getting OUT of the army! haha. one year ago, i was stuck on the wretched island, cold and homesick and miserable. haha i've.. let's see.. 301days left. and counting.

which means i've only abt 300 days left to come up with a brilliant moneymaking plan to sustain me from the time i ord to where i end up next. (which would preferrably be in uni. as of now, any uni will do) before that, hope to get my driving license. ok, so we don't have a car. but no harm in getting the license anw. definitely manual, auto's for girls.

also seem to have lost a significant amt of interest in soccer, not that it means anything. probably just a shift in priorities. hopefully that'll sort itself out.

obviously i'm not one for resolutions, mainly because i'll just end up breaking up most of them anw. and ignoring all the cliches of each new year, here's to a not-so-bumpy 2010. how bumpy could it get, when i'm getting out of NS by year's end?

haha. cheers =)

Thursday

never free, never me

soundcheck: the unforgiven (metallica)

they all seem to crumble at the same time. oh so powerless and helpless and hands tied behind the back, how did these all happen, and at what an oppportune time? sometimes i just wish i could take his place, if for just a day. what else can i do, but just watch and pray that everything turns out fine? am i really powerless, or is this just my way of staying calm? is this just a mask for confusion and fragility? what can i do to make these all go away?

what i've felt
what i've known
never shined through in what what i've shown
never be
never see
won't see what might have been

Monday

to infinity and back

soundcheck: lover, you should've come over (jeff buckley)

its undescribable to well, describe how the past few days have been. its definitely a big plus to be holed up in a different environment and forget the daily mundane details. i just can't put it in words and do it justice. the company, jokes, banter and side-splitting idiosyncracies. hilarious to the T.
{ godspeed }
maybe i'm too young,
to keep good love from going bad
but tonight, you're on my mind
so you'll never know
.

Friday

set my soul alight

soundcheck: supermassive black hole (muse)

I thought I was a fool for no one
But oh baby I'm a fool for you
You're the queen of the superficial
And how long before you tell the truth?

Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
You set my soul alight

no idea what it means, but who wants to know? life's good =)

Sunday

one step forward, two steps back

soundcheck: daughters (john mayer)

I know a girl; she puts the colour inside of my world. But she's just like a maze, where all of the walls all continually change. And I've done all I can, to stand on her steps with my heart in my hands. Now, I'm starting to see; maybe it's got nothing to do with me.

feeling too lazy to ramble at length. life's good, thank goodness for 8 to 5. time to start living again. :)

Monday

lose yourself

soundcheck: forget her (jeff buckley)

don't fool yourself
she was heartache from the moment that you met her
my heart is frozen still
as I try to find the will to forget her somehow
oh, I think I've forgotten her now

Saturday

feel like i can fly

soundcheck: the way you make me feel (ronan keating)

feeling a tad weird lately. the days fly pass in a blur, as though i'm living in cotton or bubblewrap. haha its probably just the nature of my work. honestly i can't pinpoint this... thing. sometimes i wonder how it'll feel to not get the shorter end of the stick perpetually. just to have things fall my way, just for once. yes i know, life is never fair, but what's that they say about every dog having its day? haha.

few weeks back, some lady came to church. i can't recall the exact nature of her monologue, but she mentioned something about army and guys complaining & skiving through army. well lady, sorry to burst your bubble; not everything is as it seeems, even good ol' saf. real shocker there. all i'm saying is that what happens on the ground differs vastly from what people read about or see in open houses.

haha i remember looking forward, so excitedly i might add, to enlisting in bmt while cramming for A's. oh, the folly of youth. haha. i suppose things might have turned out differently had i opted for command sch, but that's now one of life's what ifs. like they say, great hindsight is not as vital as great foresight. well, we all know the grass is always greener on the other side.
=)
