a letter to myself

soundcheck: time is running out (muse)

to myself,

its been a long time, hasn't it? if a levels is the marathon that ppl say it is, then we're now down to the last 4 laps. it will come and go in a little over 4 months time. from now till then, it is in your best interest to do your utmost best in this aspect. there shouldn't be any time left for enjoying life; after all, you've had 2 *fill in apt adjective* years in sch to do that.

rmbr how you prepared for promos and bt1? that is the standard you must surpass to achieve your goal. and yes, the time spent in sch and studying will be tough. rest if you must, but don't you dare slacken. quitting is not an option, and there cannot be any room for disappointments anymore. you've had 2 and a half years to prep yourself, so deliver. if need be, find motivations from wherever you can. they say that the process is more impt than the end result? RUBBISH.

you must not be distracted by the tiniest things anymore. football is a good hobby, but it cannot distract you from the books. football will always be there, but a levels will come and go in the next 10 weeks. so will those friends. so don't bother yourself with what they do and say. such things only take up precious brain space.

i want you to promise that starting tmr, lessons and lectures will be the priority in sch. NO MORE SKIPPING. make good use of your breaks. if classmates don't want to study together, then whatever. it's no longer abt them. its now just you vs a levels. don't let a stupid exam get the better of you.

tell yourself that you will not lose. simply because you cannot afford to.
so, let's go

yours faithfully,
myself

Bury it
I won't let you bury it
I won't let you smother it
I won't let you murder it

Our time is running out
Our time is running out
You can't push it underground
You can't stop it screaming out
